First lady Melania Trump and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos will spend Monday visiting middle school students in MI to draw attention to the White House's National Bullying Prevention Month initiative.

After lunch, Trump and DeVos made a stop to a sixth grade classroom for a “Viking Huddle, ” a twice-a-week program where students can explore social and emotional learning.

As the Detroit Free Press details, Trump and DeVos "spent time talking to numerous students who were in the [school] cafeteria, taking selfies with them and posing for pictures".

"Mrs. Trump is independent and acts independently from her husband", Melania Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham explained to CNN.

Melania Trump, the mother of the president's youngest child, 11-year-old Barron, pledged during the 2016 campaign to make the fight against bullying a priority as first lady, and addressed the issue during a speech at the United Nations in September. Later, they visited a classroom and talked to students about the value of inclusion.

"I always believe that you need to treat each other with respect and kindness and compassion, but also stay true to yourself". "By our own example, we must teach children to be good stewards of the world they will inherit". Melania Trump, the woman now engaged in what seems like matrimonial agony to the most famous bully on earth, is officially kicking off her anti-bullying tour.
