After launch the Redmi Note 5A smartphone in China last month, Xiaomi seems to be preparing itself for the launch of the Redmi 5A. A first glance, the poster reveals that the 5A is not radically different than its predecessor in terms of design. "Lightweight and Long Battery Life". The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 out of the box. Xiaomi is expected to launch a series of smartphones, including the Redmi 5, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 Plus, and the Redmi 5A. There's a 3,000 mAh battery powering the device, with Xiaomi claiming up to 8 days of standby time, and the entire package weighs 137 grams. The design looks similar to the Xiaomi Redmi 4 but without a fingerprint sensor. It will be available via the company's official site as well as other popular e-commerce sites in China. The Redmi 5A features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with a pixel density of 296ppi. Based on the specifications, the Redmi Note 5A sports better set of innards as compared to the aforementioned upcoming Redmi 5A.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A was launched in March 2017. It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). We can expect the Redmi 5A to feature a 3000mAh battery, as hinted by TENNA. There are two antenna lines on the top and we could make out the rear cameras and the LED flash which accompanies it located just between the two antenna lines. It comes with a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. There may be a 32GB storage variant as well. It supports 1080p and 720p video recording. It comes with a hybrid SIM slot.
