You'll obviously be facing off against zombies instead of police and the game takes place in a post apocalyptic Washing D.C.

Overkill's The Walking Dead (that's its full name) is a four-player co-op title from the developer of the Payday series featuring characters set in The Walking Dead universe based on the original graphic novel series. Now Overkill has released a new trailer that reveals the game's first playable character, and offers fans a new release window to look forward to.

In Overkill's The Walking Dead, players will take on different kinds of missions and raids, all of which will lead to the acquisition of more supplies and the recruitment of more survivors to strengthen the base camp.

Each character has their own Special Abilities, Skill Trees, Squad Roles, Play Styles and Story Arcs, but teamwork is paramount. The game's being developed by Starbreeze's Overkill Studio, with partners Skybound Entertainment and 505 Games.

The new trailer for Overkill's The Walking Dead introduces fans to Aidan. "You need to be able to improvise, as nothing is certain, and a horde of walkers is always around the corner", reads the press blurb.

When we started doing Walking Dead video games, I thought that first-person-shooter stuff was such a crowded marketplace, and there's so much cool zombie stuff in it, I was initially very reluctant to go in that area with Walking Dead.

Overkill's The Walking Dead is slated for a fall 2018 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Does this game sound promising, or will it be dead on arrival?
