WWE Superstar Rich Swann Arrested for Battery, Kidnapping

The alleged victim in this instance is Vannarah Riggs, Swann's wife, and a fellow wrestler who performs on the indie scene as Su Yung.

Riggs exited the auto that Swann was driving, and Swann grabbed her by the neck, leading to Riggs screaming for help and then beating on the vehicle window and trying to exit the auto again once he had her back inside.

The officer who responded says Swann denied grabbing Riggs and claimed she got into the auto on her own.

There was more the one witness to the event, which continued as Swann also exited the vehicle and let it continue to roll (resulting in the auto hitting a telephone pole, according to one witness). Another witness said the vehicle stopped in traffic, wasn't placed into "park", and rolled until it hit a telephone pole.

Swann denied grabbing Riggs in his statement to the police, claiming he was just trying to get home and was relying on her phone which had Global Positioning System.

ProWrestlingSheet has also confirmed via a statement from WWE that Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest. The victim says she got out of the vehicle they were in because she was scared the argument would escalate.

Following Rich Swann's arrest for battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment, WWE has responded swiftly to the incident. "The Vic screamed for help as the Def pushed her in the vehicle".

The woman told police she was afraid of Swann because "he has a temper sometimes".

The report says he told police "he was just trying to get home and she had the phone with the Global Positioning System on it so he needed her to come with him". Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Section 9.13 (a) of the WWE booking contract, commonly known as the "morals clause", provides WWE with broad discretion and authority to act under such circumstances.
