'Agents of SHIELD' Renewed for Shortened Season 6

But with a sixth season now a guarantee, we've got a feeling we can look forward to half of the cast returning to show a desperate they try to figure out where in the hell the rest of their de-facto family is-not to mention half the rest of the world. The 13-episode Season 6 will premiere in summer 2019, Channing Dungey, ABC President of Entertainment said today during the network's upfront presentation.

Even non-fans are now curious to see how the Season 5 finale (airing this Friday) will address the big twist in Avengers: Infinity War, which could set up a very different board for Season 6. S.H.I.E.L.D. was among the shows considered on the bubble until Monday's renewal announcement confirmed that Coulson (Clark Gregg) and company would, indeed, be back for another season - much to the delight of anxious fans.
