Internet dubs Arizona dog a hero after saving friend from pool

- When a pup fell into the backyard pool, his doggy friend stepped up to help and the incredible heroic act was caught on the family's surveillance camera.

The dog is seen treading water, struggling to get out while Remus paces along the side.

Owners Laurie and Jay Becerra captured the heroic event on their security camera and posted it to their Facebook page where it's going viral. But for these two pups, it's a dog-save-dog world.

Laurie Becerra says her husband noticed one of their dogs, named Smokey, was all wet.

"When we saw the footage, we were amazed and our hearts were filled with joy, said "Dodo" a friend of Bezerra, who sent the video to Reddit". Remus stands in front of him at the edge, anxiously looking down and darting left and right.

Becerra wrote on Facebook that Smokey could swim, just not very well, and that Remus "may be a insane pup but he's got a heart of gold!"

She praised "hero" dog Remus, saying though he may be 'a insane pup but he's got a heart of gold'.

Then suddenly, a splash, and Remus is in the water too. "Smokey can swim simply not properly", Laurie wrote on social media.

Finally, Remus jumps in himself, swims under his friend, and uses his own body to push Smokey back onto dry land.
