Lenovo Z5 Could be Lenovo's True Bezel-Less Phone

Teaser shared by Chang Cheng on the Lenovo Z5. The phone seems almost bezel-less with extremely thin ones running at the top and bottom. The receiving wire band on the left edge implies that mobile will sport a metal unibody outline or have a metal edge. The bottom bezel seems to feature a USB-C port.

The Lenovo's VP did not disclose which were the technologies the engineers used to achieve the frames and notch removal.

Aside from structural- and antenna-related issues, a major hurdle for truly bezel-less smartphones is how to incorporate the aforementioned audio and camera components.

The following picture displays a "slice" of the phone and no notch appears on it. While Lenovo is not talking about the hardware inside the Z5, it is nearly certain that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which nearly all high-end Android phones use. It is also liable to accompany no less than 6GB RAM, 64GB internal capacity, double camera setup and highlights like a unique fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will be debuting as Lenovo Z5 in the coming month and the new teaser suggests that it will offer a screen-to-body ratio of more than 95 percent. The Z5 will be launched to take on the likes of Xiaomi's Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix and other phones with a comprehensive display. Moreover, the company has started the upcoming Lenovo Z5 flagship phone.

Lenovo is reportedly working on a fully bezel-less smartphone to break away from the new trend of shipping smartphones with a notch. This phone could end the notch culture. So it would be interesting to see how Lenovo makes up the space for the front camera and earpiece without disturbing the screen expanse.

Lenovo had tried selling Motorola phones with ZUK UI onboard in the recent past in China. Perhaps, Lenovo is implementing in Z5 technology concept smartphone Vivo APEX: retractable frontalka, fingerprint sensor at the screen technology Screen SoundCasting that turns the display into a speaker.
