The Lenovo Z5 will arrive sometime in June and since it does not appear to have a facial recognition sensor other than the one that will be incorporated via software, it will probably have a fingerprint scanner for user authentication.

Lenovo's Vice President according to Twitter leakster Benjamin Geskin Chang Cheng says that it took four groundbreaking technologies and 18 patented technologies to achieve the design of Z5.

A lot of phone makers are trying to maximize the screen size on their devices, but we're often left with top and bottom bezels or a notch (like on the iPhone X). Besides that, the post leaves it pretty vague. The teaser is also a concept sketch, so we may not be getting the full story here. Lenovo did not immediately respond to CNET's request for comment. The company in question is Lenovo and the phone is the upcoming Lenovo Z5.

These days we are seeing more companies starting to make phones with edge-to-edge displays, where they are sometimes marketed as full screen phones.

In another post on Weibo by Cheng about the new device, he asked his audience to guess what the screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone would be.

However, most see it as a stop gap solution until manufacturers can find a way to place all of those powerful cameras and sensors within a display.

It is not yet known how Lenovo will deal with the front-facing camera and speaker on the Z5, but it could have something to do with the technological breakthroughs Cheng hinted at.
