Friends of Meghan's say that she is "heartbroken" over what has happened and desperately anxious about her father, who told TMZ he suffered a heart attack six days ago.

Earlier on Monday, Meghan's half-sister, Samantha, claimed on television that it was her idea that their father stage the photos. Photos of Markle intently studying "Images of Great Britain: A Pictorial Tour Through History" in a Starbucks quickly went viral - but were later discovered to have been staged. The revelation about the photos came as Markle was due to travel to the United Kingdom for the wedding and after Kensington Palace repeatedly issued warnings to media outlets to respect his privacy, saying he had been "harassed" by paparazzi, the Mail on Sunday said. "And the idea of contemplating him not being there now is not something that she wants to have to do", a source told the Daily Mail.

He is reported to have said that he did not want to cause his daughter embarrassment by attending the wedding.

Meanwhile, Meghan's extended family who weren't invited to the wedding have been pictured landing in London.

They all are set to be "special correspondents" on Good Morning Britain.

It was the subject of fevered speculation among royal watchers on Monday night after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle asked for "understanding" amid claims that Thomas Markle, Meghan's father, won't be attending the royal wedding.

"I can no longer tell FakeHarry and FakeMeghan from #harryandmeghan", one viewer tweeted. She said, 'Can I say yes? "I don't think Meghan is going to be crying into her cornflakes about this - I'm sure she has much bigger things to think about at this time".

Director Menhaj Huda told Vanity Fair: "What I've heard is that they're seriously anxious about the sex scene".
