ET's Leanne Aguilera caught up with the Empire star at Fox's upfront presentation on Monday, and the 47-year-old actress spilled all the details on how her beau, former National Football League pro Kelvin Hayden, popped the question. She wrote, "I said yes y'all!"

The 47-year-old was first linked to the former American footballer, 34, in December 2015, after they were spotted holding hands on the beach while on vacation in Florida, but she didn't confirm the relationship until December 2017. She has son Marcell, 24, from her marriage with high-school sweetheart, William Lamar Johnson, who was murdered in 2003.

'I'm not the type to blast my personal business. While speaking to ET, she revealed that they plan to Wednesday within the year and that only one day after Hayden put a ring on it she's already overwhelmed with planning the day for her nuptials. Podcast. 'I'm happy in my personal life.

But Taraji is pleased she let the proposal play out as it did, and added she's "very very happy". Henson explained that a "river of tears" poured out of her when she saw him get down on one knee, and before she knew it, her "lashes ended up on the floor".
