Following the incident, the Pakistani authorities forced the U.S. Air Force C130 to land at Pakistan's Nur Khan air base and leave without diplomat Hall.

Hall, a US Defense and Air Attache, had violated two traffic light offenses on the afternoon of April 7, ramming two motorcyclists with his white armored SUV in Islamabad. But the diplomat was not arrested because of his diplomatic immunity.

The government reportedly took the decision after the United States government assured that Colonel Hall will be tried under U.S. laws.

Hall had been barred from flying out of Pakistan on Saturday. According to the changes, American diplomats will also have to take prior permission to travel - something which was earlier done in special cases - will not be afforded the luxury of "fast-track" luggage clearance at airports, will not be allowed to have more than one passport and will stay in the country strictly as per their visa date.

The development comes days after Pakistan sent back an American plane, delaying the return of Hall to the United States. Arrest orders were also issued for all other officials involved in helping Colonel Hall flee from the police station.

Tensions are simmering between Islamabad and Washington as the United States pushes Pakistan to crack down on safe havens it allegedly provides for militants.

Joseph Emanuel Hall, who was initially barred from leaving Pakistan after his involvement in a fatal traffic collision, left the country on Monday evening, a US Embassy official told Arab News.

The letter said the USA embassy and consulates in Pakistan will no longer avail facilities of using tainted glass on official vehicles and rented transport, non-diplomatic number plates on official vehicles, diplomatic number plates on unspecified and rented vehicles; and the facility of biometrically unverified or unregistered cell phone SIMs.
