Welcome to Wonder Woman 1984, the Warner Bros. sequel that's now lensing across parts of Washington D.C. with Chris Pine in tow.

The release also mentions the previously-announced Kristen Wiig as the main villain Cheetah, along with Chris Pine returning as Steve Trevor and Pedro Pascal in an unspecified role. Gal Gadot will also be a producer on Wonder Woman 1984.

Warner Bros. did not specify how Steve Trevor (who seemingly died in the first film set in World War I) is returning.

Wonder Woman, released in the summer of 2017, become a cross-cultural phenomenon, inspiring millions of moviegoers and raking in $821.9 million at the global box office.

Filming for Wonder Woman 1984 is taking place in Washington D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain, a d the Canary Islands.

While the rest of the DCEU is in something of a state of flux with talks of Ben Affleck exiting his Batman role, the success of 2017's Wonder Woman made a sequel all-but guaranteed. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are EPs.
