West Ham have continued their £100million summer spree by signing Lucas Perez - and will swoop for "The Rock" next.

Perez said: "I'm very happy to be here at such an historic club".

West Ham United has signed striker Lucas Perez from Arsenal on a three-year contract, both English Premier League clubs confirmed on Thursday.

The 29-year-old striker spent last season on loan at his former side Deportivo La Coruna in Spain, collecting nine goals and eight assists in 37 appearances for the Galician side, after struggling to make an impression in North London.

Perez and Sanchez join Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop, Jack Wilshere, Aindriy Yarmolenko, Fabian Balbuena and Felipe Anderson in moving to the Hammers this summer. But the Baggies are still hoping they can land the global midfielder with the lure of playing in what could be a very exciting season as they battle for promotion back to the Premier League.

"We welcome Lucas to West Ham United". He can also cover other positions but it is as a defensive midfielder that he really excels.

"Lucas also has experience of the Premier League with Arsenal, and is familiar with life here in London, which of course means that he will take less time to adapt and be ready".

The former Rayo Vallecano forward paid tribute to the Arsenal supporters in a message on his Twitter account, saying: "They always showed me affection and love from the first time I arrived in London".
